So i have played a mage at level 70 in TBC and loved raiding raiding and enjoyed it and was really good in pvp with it reaching decent ratings.
My eX GF has that wow acc so i have gone back to my old acc, i have started levelinga new mage ( level 35 ) and also a paladin ( lvl 25 ) I am having such a hard time decidiing.
On one hand i know end game i will LOVE MAGE and i know how to play it and its fun and if u can really master it its a deadly class. On the OTHER Hand since i leveld one before im finding myself getting pretty bored levling so im not sure what to do :(.
Paladin is fun but i just dont feel AT home on the class i feel like if i take him to 85 ill get there and say i wish i took the mage :( i tihnk im only enjoying it because its new?
Any advice or anything that can help me this is REALLY bothering me.
No one !? please help ? lol
Mage imo.
I just returned to the game. I started a Paladin; I was interested in playing one from a healing standpoint in PvP. I'm Prot. spec. though because it's just so overpowered and fun to take on and kill 3 people at once. (Nerf Avenger Shield imo). I only made it to the 40s when I realized that I needed to go back to my old twink mage, for the same reason you listed. I know that I will always LOVE MAGE, and the Paladin was still iffy.
I come from Final Fantasy XI, a game filled with long-time and well-seasoned players. In that game, you don't make alts; your main does it all. You just change classes and swap your class gear out in your house (also serves as your bank). Because of this, it is really hard to play the class you want to play. If they know you have class X leveled, they will demand you come as that class. All the time I had to play as a thief (rogue) because I had the hard-to-get relic gloves that increased drop rates even though I desperately wanted to play other classes. Why is all of this relevant? Well, as a Paladin, you can tank, heal, and dps. If your group/guild needs a tank, but you want to DPS, you may experience the same problem. This is why I ultimately decided to come back to my twink mage and level it as my main. (I would have stayed a twink, but BG queues just didn't ever happen). Mage is DPS. Even if they want a specific spec, that's a lot easier to swallow than doing a completely different job (that you may dislike or be tired of).
edit: grammar
thanks for your input
anyone else
It's really up to whatever you enjoy playing the most. Both classes are fun, especially pally's since you can change your role and never get bored..But Mages on the other hand are just amazing. I for one never, ever got bored with my mage, I even got bored with the pally and druid I leveled much after my mage.
I really love that pallys can do everything I love the LORE of pallys i love the mounts the LOOK the idea of them. But im afraid that ill level the pally and endgame I LOVE pvp and love to DAMAGE and im thinking im going to be like "wow ret sucks or wow ret damage just isnt what it use to be" and end up getting stuck going prot pvp or sticking ot strict pve as holy or prot... idk...
its not that im bored of my mage i love mage but leveling ANOTHER mage this would actually be the 3rd. Its hard to get motivated to.
