Let living bomb explode?

Is it ok to overwrite your living bomb on a single target fight before it explodes, or is that a no-no and a dps loss?
no no dps loss.

The explosion does more damage than a tick, and it happens simultaneously with a tick. Ergo, you want it to go boom and then immediately recast it.
If you dont let Living bomb expire then you dont get the last tick of damage which is the most powerful and the aoe tick. Overwriting it for pure damage is a bad idea. However if you want to do damage with living bomb but not break nearby CC then overwriting it can grant you a bit of extra damage while not risking an aoe that breaks CC
To those who think the explosion is stronger than the DoT, it is not.
My LB ticks deal average 5.3k non-crit damage (90 samples), and the explosion is 4.8k (20 samples). That said, I haven't heard anyone competent say that overwriting LB before explosion would be a DPS gain.

Living Bomb ticks do more than the AoE.
It ticks every 3 seconds for 12 seconds.
At the end of the 12 seconds, it will tick AND explode immediately after.

With that said, you can refresh it somewhat earlier and not let it explode, since the last tick can essentially "rollover" when you refresh it early. What I mean by this is, you can refresh living bomb at 1 second left. Living bomb will start with 13 seconds, tick at 12, and go down it's usual tick pattern. I believe it's limited to 13.5 seconds. I'm not sure.

Example:
00:00: Afflicted by Living Bomb.
00:03: Suffers 10 Dmg.
00:06: Suffers 10 Dmg.
00:09: Suffers 10 Dmg.
00:12: Suffers 10 Dmg.
00:12: Living Bomb Dissipates.
00:13 (Some Delay): Living Bomb hits for 8 Dmg AOE.
